I am trying to program a local trunk system and I seem to be picking up other talk groups that I don't want to listen to. Is there a setting on the pro-160 I am missing.

I am only looking into getting the following afs talk groups
06-117
06-120
06-121
06-122
06-123

but I am getting hits on other ones that I have not programed in, like these
06-113
08-37

Once you've programmed the talkgroups you want to listen to, set the bank to Closed Mode. Page 44 of the user manual.

hi, i have no experience with that scanner, only the 96 and the 106. but on the 96, there was a feature where you could "open" or "close" the scanning banks[or are they called scanlists?]. it allowed you to listen to all talkgroups in being broadcast on the towers you can hear[open][indicated by a plus sign]. or just the TGs that you have programmed[a minus sign or hyphen]. maybe your scanner has a similar feature. i would look in the manual and find out how to open and close banks.

I believe the 160 was a Uniden product so it would be called ID Scan ( for Closed GRE ) and ID search ( for Open GRE ).

The 160/162 are indeed Uniden made, and the terminology is Closed Mode (T- indicator) and Open Mode (T+ indicator).
