In case you haven't heard,
I was curious if anyone out there knew what channels local FDs were working on and the forestry service specifically? Ill start scanning the forestry channels in the morning to see if I can hear anything but was curious if anyone has heard anything else.

Most of the VFDs were on Viper Surry TAC 6 last night. I didn't hear NCFS on viper but my guess is they were using their D10 VHF TAC channels.

Thank you. I am listening to Surry Tac 6 and hearing anything. I'm also listening to the forestry channels from D10 to hear something as well

Curious, does Caldwell and Watuaga Fire use VIPER or VHF? I know Lenoir and Boone are on VIPER.

From where I am I can hear most of Caldwell on VIPER with my G5, nothing on the SDS-200.

Most Caldwell agencies use VIPER for primary ops with VHF dispatching/paging. Watauga is mainly on VHF, some agencies use VIPER as secondary. Believe ASU PD and Boone PD are the only Watauga agencies full-time on VIPER.
