I live in Pinellas county near the gulf in Dunedin FL.
At my location I have been trying to solve the simulcast issues in hearing the local county P25 system. I listen to the system at home in my living room with the Uniden HP1 and an outdoor large 800mhz yagi antenna and most of the time hear the P25 system without problems.I am tired of being tethered to my external outside antenna.
If I take the outdoor antenna off the radio and put the 800 mhz RS on I hear nothing. There are places around the house that it will work, kinda but not at the spot in the living room. I get similar results with the 436 and 536 Uniden radios.
Enter the Unication G5 Pager!!!
This device is NOT a scanner but rather a pager that has scanning functions. It is a commercial purpose built device designed for fire, ems, and police, it is not a consumer built device. It functions on p25 phase one and phase 2 systems. It scans one system at a time and has no delay, hold or avoid functions at this time hopefully will in future.
So I programed the pager and turned it on and WOW SIMULCAST PROBLEM FIXED!!!!! With no antenna just using the supplied stubby ant that comes with the device I had rock solid signal no distortion, no loss of signal full bars signal.I was floored!!! So with the pager sitting on my couch I tried Clearwaters P25 phase 2 system. Rock solid loud clear audio full signal!!!! Ok so then I tried the new P25 Hillsborough County system with 3 bar system signal on the radio again solid audio no distortion sitting on my couch in my single story stucco house. So then I tried the car with the pager sitting in the cup holder of my Mazda with the stubby antenna the the device comes with. I drove around town.Again rock solid decode and audio every where I went. This was a major improvement over my Uniden scanners which performed poorly in similar situations.
So in Pinellas county if you are having problems with simulcast on our P25 system just buy this thing I know you wont be disappointed.
On sale now at Rays Pagers for $565.00 until Dec21 2018.
Ps Anyone else in this area using this device I would like to hear from you let me know.
MODS please leave this post in the Florida forum Thanks.
