In the early 90's there was a TV/Radio plug-in card called "PixelView" that came with a cheap and cheerful bit of software to control it BUT it's main claim to fame was that there was also pirate software to decode Sky TV's terrestrial transmissions here in New Zealand - it took a fair bit of fiddling to get it to go perfectly but in the end it was really good. However whether this prompted Sky to stop their terrestrial brodcasts can't be ascertained but it's gone - all satellite now.

However there is still this card - I have it around here somewhere in the bottomless junk box. Anyone heard of it before and would it be possible to write some software to make it into an SDR? I'm no software engineer by any means - I stopped with Commodore Basic!

Apparently, it's still around in some form. Check this link:
PixelView Play TV USB 2.0

I'm pretty sure it is (was) limited to what it was designed to do, though. With SDR dongles so cheap and available these days, it might not be worth exploring too much.
