Police scanner listeners.

Is police scanning a dying thing in Montana or just not that many people there that have one to listen to?

Just trying to give Montana some things to talk about.

i think Montana has a low crime rate....thats why there's not many live scanners

Probably right. I'm from Billings,MT. Havent been theres since I was 14

I like MT visit many times, but with a population of 500,000 or so it can be pretty quiet which is great for me, my county (70 towns) has twice as many people in it (900,000 +) than Montana, my county has close to 2500 +/- Police officers, about 700 volunteer fire firefighters and it can be very quiet here - at times...my county would fit in some of the larger ranches out west !

I have been away from Montana for 5yrs and Im moveing back in about a week. I just think many Scanner people don't know about this site but not sure. I have been into scanners since my Dad became a Sheriff Deputy in Granite County. I know Missoula and the bitterroot Valley is very busy and I know Lake County and Flathead can be also just not anyone reporting it. Last weekend my Dad was on a stabbing and he said its getting worse and more things are happening. So it just depends where you are at I guess, but I do know im going to miss how busy it is here where iam at right now.

BTW- I just noticed, North Dakota has zero (0) live feeds! LOL

Never set up for a live feed before, but could get a Bozeman city only as SO(dispatch for the other small communities) is out of reach for my apartment("do not attach to")lease.

I was looking over thing today and was thinking it would be nice if people put what City they are in so when we are writing we kinda have an idea what others are listening to. I would also like to add im working on getting Missoula Adam Codes and others.

I rotate my residence from Missoula to my cabin in Hungry Horse and spend my winters south (AZ). Missoula is fairly busy for Montana with MPD / MSO / FIRE / EMS and MT Highway Patrol. I travel cross-state often . . . Billings and east is really slow listening.

I know a deputy SO in Granite County . . . name is Sonny . . . any relation?

Do they still have the metra dome there in Billings? Maybe some freqs to listen from them.

Metra Destroyed

A somewhat rare tornado touched down in Billings over the weekend and took the roof off the Metra and several businesses in the area.

To JJ - I was a former superintendent of schools in Philipsburg and County Emergency Management Officer. Failure of Rock Creek dam was one of my projects.
