Police seek man who stole cruiser
Police on both sides of the Missouri River were searching for a man who stole a Council Bluffs police officer's cruiser about 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
Bluffs Police Sgt. Mark Galvan said the officer was dispatched to the Interstate 480 bridge to check on a man walking across it. Galvan said the officer gave the man a ride into Omaha, and when he went to let the man out of the car, the man struggled with the officer outside the cruiser.
The man then got into the cruiser and drove westbound on Douglas Street near 10th Street. Douglas is a one-way eastbound street in that area.
Scanner reports indicated that the officer shocked the man with a Taser, but he still managed to get into the cruiser and drive off . - OWH story
