This is unreal.

Aurora police fatally shoot man who attacked officer, stole patrol car - The Denver Post

If I you're really, really, dying to steal a police car, at least do it in a remote area with a tiny police department or something in the middle of nowhere. Even in Alaska, you would have Alaska State Troopers on your tail, but at least you might have some time to "try" and get away and have a head-start (putting aside what you would do with it later, which I can't even begin to comprehend) But in the City of Aurora??

He was stopped helping out with an accident and the tow truck operator was hooking up this guy's car to be towed.

Then he hits the cop over the head (did you see that big open gash on his scalp) and gets in his cop car.

You could hear the cop yell, "Get out!" He didn't and the cop fired shots at him.

Then the chase, crash and more shots.

No. Those are just beeps they have in their audio system to separate transmissions. You will only hear those on their official recordings of their audio.

Article: "The man then drove away in the officer's patrol car. The officer fired shots at the car ..."

And here I thought they only shot at stolen LEO vehicles in the movies. Wonder what the local protocol is for *that*? At 1:41, it sounds like the officer said "He's trying to ram me". If I'm hearing it right, that would explain it.

Paint it? Quickly? Not the easiest thing to take over to your local Auto Pawn, that's for sure. Like most bad guys, you gotta wonder what's in their heads. Doesn't matter now, but 'you can't fix stupid'.

I can only imagine the cop was thinking he was going to get run over. To know for sure, we will have to wait and see what the DA investigation report says.

Yup. See already edited message above. Listening to the audio again, I think we hear that at 1:41 in.

DANG! That had to hurt. A meat cleaver could have done a whole lot more damage if wielded more effectively. Am sure glad it only created a nasty scalp wound and the officer is going to be OK.
