Just remember polyphasers do a good job, but they aren't 100%. My FD's antenna took a direct hit a few years back. The antenna was junk, the base radio was junk, and the polyphaser was ok. It left everybody scratching their heads.

The Altenicon's cover 0- 3GHz. I tried it out today on my new Omni X antenna with 40 feet of WBC400 and tuned to a distant fire station. There was no discernible difference with or without the Lightning Arrester. The insertion loss is rated at 0.4 dB max

In another thread someone said it was good to have two lightning arresters on the line. One at the antenna and one at the POE (point of entry). I'm going to order another one (and some spares) from www.hyperlinktech.com. I've made several orders from them in the past and they where fast to ship. I would stay away from Ebay if possible....
