The tac/info channels are encrypted.

Which, btw, is nothing new. Back in their high band days, and dating back to the early 70's, they would run inversion scrambling on brown and orange.

I monitor them and the PD Dispatch (Blue-1) is in the clear. The tac/info channels are encrypted.

I tried again monitoring Pomona but I only caught bits and pieces. If I have it on scan I will not pick it up. I programmed a bank on my radio shack digital scanner. I programmed the 6 channels and I had to scroll back and forth in order to monitor blue-1. What am I doing wrong?

UHF trunked

Hi,

We need to know the model number of your scanner. As a general rule you will want to make sure that you config the scanner for a UHF trunked system. All the info you need is in the database for the tables (offset , spacing, base ) . Be sure to setup 2 tables (you may need to read your manual to figure this out).

the scanner I am using is a Radio Shack base 2096 digital trunk scanner. I also have a hand held pro 96 I believe. I don't have them with me at the moment.

Also, what is the spacing? I have read my manual quite a few times. But I am still confused about what I am doing wrong.

I work as a videographer for the news media. I work the night shift and that is when I am listening to the scanners.

I am also having problems monitoring Verdugo Fire Department, Montebello PD. I have Orange and San Bernardino counties programmed too. And, I have no problems with monitoring them.

If you feel better contacting me by phone feel free, my cell is 424 230-2219.

Thanks,

Eric

Here is a screenshot of how to setup this up using Win96.

Part 1

Part 2

I believe the tables were obtained from SoCalScan and they seem to track the system just fine.
