What types of action/activity are usually found here??? i have noticed that another forum has a much larger and more up-to-date TG listing than I have programmed in my radios. i will be updating mine accordingly but was just curious to know what types of stuff is usually heard here?? is is just airport ops? airport PD ops, Fire? roads/tarmac crews? etc.. Thanks

The port ops trunked system covers all of the area along Alaskan way. And Seatac airport. If there is soemthing going on at any of the piers Port authority police and likely SPD respond . In addition of their is a crash alert or incident at Seatac the port authority trunked system is where you'll hear the action..

As you know "Cowboy mike" I am in the right place to listen to this and other systems being in the Winslow area of Bainbridge island..

God for bid there is an emergency involving a ship. I might have a front row seat to it. Heaven help me if a plane goes down any where near us. . Being in the flight path of Boeing and Seatac is great. But I'll take a pass on a plane going down near me thanks.

This list is pretty much up to date. Less than half of the stuff is used regularly. Some of the talkgroups came from my extended listening about a year ago and some came from a Public Disclosure request and I've never seen them used (the DRC Test ones for example).

It's fun to run in open mode, you'll see new stuff pop up. Sometimes it's dead keys. You'll also get to hear the phone patches--they show up as radio IDs. The talkgroups that come up most often are:
PD dispatch
PD Tac1
PD Admin (not often but regularly)
Fire TAC-1 (toneouts are done on a muti-select if I recall correctly)
All of the maintenance talkgroups (even the snow one when there is no snow)
Access 1
All of the Parking talkgroups
Marine ones I don't know. I always locked them out.

Other stuff comes up too, just not as often.

It was quite an entertaining trunk to listen to back in the 2002-2004 time frame when there was a consistent 'threat" at the airport. When someone shut down the airport for a few hours, you could catch some pretty heated conversations between police, TSA, etc.

Personally, I haven't listened in a while... as the most recent convos were not very interesting. A lot of shuttle/parking traffic.

The winter time can be a good time to listen if we get snow.
