i've been hearing port PD utilizing ozaukee dispatch but over their dispatch talkgroup (as opposed to thiensville and fredonia who use the main sheriff dispatch talkgroup.) what is confusing is i have also heard a couple saukville squads talking to ozaukee dispatch on the port pd dispatch talkgroup. i think its time to rename that talkgroup on my scanner unless this is a temporary thing.
anyone have additional info?

I need to watch the radio more carefully, but I think it has been Port EMS that I've suddenly heard using TG 15-152. I never noticed them on there before. It this what you guys are talking about?

i knew that this change was coming - my question is whether the use of talkgroups is going to stay this way or if it's temporary until the bugs get worked out.

the 15-xxx TGs are system patches. what i was referring to is all port pd and saukville pd (when their dispatcher is not working) comms are being handled by ozaukee on TG 04-121.

i can't understand what the thought process was to put port and saukville on a separate TG...it's going to be a pain for the dispatchers to have to switch back-and-forth from county dispatch to saukville/port dispatch, especially when those agencies get busy.

what are you guys talking about?? Port PD is simply being dispatched on thier dispatch talk group from a county console. What is the confusion about here? There's no talk group "name changes".

No different that the majority of Fire Dept's in OZ Co. They have been dispatched and handled since day one of the OZTRS on separate TG's.
The point may be they are on independent TG's because they are busy Dept's. I have noticed since my move to the county that some Dept's tend to have much more radio traffic than others. Port being one and Grafton another. These two can be very busy with radio traffic and at the same time the Sheriff is silent.
On some shifts and staffing configurations there may be only 2 deputies on the road for the county. Some of the PD's will have 2 or 3 times that.

port pd was previously dispatched on TG 02-105 (which is listed in the database under port fire...) and now they are utilizing the allocated dispatch TG. this same TG is also being used to dispatch saukville pd when their dispatcher is not on duty. so there are a couple new things with these agencies....no confusion on this end :)

Port was not "dispatched" on 02-105 as it were. That was a patch of VHF 155.655 for interoperablity with the county.
When they went to the TRS they bean using the TG in the console for dispatch and took the patch down.

uh..... ya.....

Prior to consolidation PWPD was a patch from their VHF to PWF TAC4 talk group.
They are now dispatched on the PWP DISP talk group which is being renamed OZS PD.
The point is to break things up...2 dispatchers....2 talk groups.....faster response...less likley someone has to wait for a clear channel.
policy decision not technoligy decision. Since I don't get shot at....usually :)..I will leave it to them.....

The artist formaly known as RD1.

PS: Ozaukee still sounding OK out there?

Pss:

The VHF Patch is still in place (not hrting anything) but since PWPD isn't using the vhf repeater there is no activity on PWF TAC4.

Always sounds good to me when I am mobile and in range using just a rubber duck.
Headed north on I-43 I pick it up best when coming up to the Bayshore area.

Very good, IMO. But now and then it seems like a Simul-Select page will drop out in mid-transmission (for Mequon, not sure about others). Patch pages seem ok.
