Lately I've been hearing "1200" units talking on the Portage County Sheriff Dispatch frequency(156.210). I've only ever heard 100(Deputies) and 1100(Brady Lake) units before. Anyone know who 1200 may be?

It might be Brimfield FD jumping over to the SO frequency. Did the numbers seem to follow FD conventions?

No these didn't sound like Fire Units. The one I heard last night was a 100 unit telling dispatch that he had 12xx with him and to notify his OIC.

1200 units are simply the "special' deputies. So called weekend warriors that work limited hours and mostly at special events (fairs, parades, etc.). They are used on occaison to supplement the road patrol units.

Ok nice. I was starting to think it was some small village I didn't know about or maybe prosecutors office investigators or probation officers. I know about special deputies, I just figured they were 100 units just like the paid deputies.
