Hi Opus,

T4Win supports the OmniLink messages. I'll make a note of the Australian 800 mhz band plan.

version control?

With all of these betas and ports, how is the user going to be sure that they won't lose features or functionality because the person doing the "new" version based it on an older release of the original software? This has apparently already happened once with the "MTrunker port" program.

Just noticed you can run both the ported version of trunker, and T4WIn simultaniously side by side on the same machine.

Pretty nifty!

r00t,

I tired MTrunker32 and it works great on sound card. However I could not make it work with slicer.

As far as Aus users. Most of us have been using a Aussie offshoot of trunker called AusTrnk. It supported band plan types '4' and 'N'. '4' is for the South Australian GRN and 'N' is for the New South Wales GRN. So this leads me to two points...

1) Easy mod... have MTrunker32 ignore these band plans so it does not spit the dummy. This will save Aus users the hassle of changing all their files to change the band plan to '0' just so they can use MTrunker32.

2) BEST! Support the SA GRN and NSW GRN bandplans. Info on the NSW band plan can be found at http://www.scannsw.aesvn.org/grn.htm and info on the SA bandplan can be found at http://users.chariot.net.au/~mattb/scan/programming.htm.

Do this and your program will really take off in Aus :)

Thanks for all the hard work.

I discovered I also have the IIi problem. The post above that I posted a few days ago shows Fulton Co. GA. as 22222222 and the real map for trunker 3.8.3 is CCKDD222. Also it changes the plan from 8 to 0. Once it does this my type 1 ids no longer show up on the screen.

First thanks to r00t for making this program so easy. I am having a problem with the plan type. I am getting hex for part of the frequencies but when I change the plan to 8 it gave me numerical frequencies then went all hex. Checking the sys file it had changed the plan back to 0. Suggestions anyone?

Thanks.

Hello,

Around my area we have mostly 800/900 Motorola systems but it was a different story when I went to New Jersey! I had to calculate frequencies when I knew the computer could do it. That is why I added the map file type to trunker. It is a more generic solution that is almost as easy as the built-in plans. It works similar to the vhf/uhf settings on a scanner. A text file with the name xxxxMAP.TXT (xxxx is the system id) is created in the trunker directory containing the base frequency, frequency step, and starting LCN as a comma-delimited file. Beside having the frequencies calculated, trunker also displays the neighbor information as frequencies instead of hex codes. I did a beta version of 3.8.3 that supports map files and adds some useful VHF/UHF features. I also submitted the changes for the 3.8.4 version of trunker.

The 3a0dmap.txt and 5d0dmap.txt files for GRN would have the lines:
415.575,0.0125,17c
413.100,0.0125,2d3
415.000,0.0125,2ec

If the frequency step is zero then the base frequency only maps to the lcn. This allows the user to enter the LCNs for EDACS or LTR. A 4 channel EDACS system may have a 0000map.txt like:
866.0175,0.0,1
866.5000,0.0,2
866.3750,0.0,3
866.6000,0.0,4

I am running R00t's latest beta on a Dell Latitude laptop with 1 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, with Windows XP Pro SP2. I am using a PRO-93 scanner to provide discriminator audio, and am not using a trunk following scanner .

With Trunker as the active window, it runs merrily along at 100% on the system I am monitoring, with a rare drop to as low as 97.2%. Along with Trunker, I have Mozilla Firefox web browser and Microsoft Outlook running as well. When Trunker goes "into the background" its performance changes quite rapidly. For example, I send or receive an e-mail in Outlook and/or visit a few websites in Firefox. When I bring Trunker back to the forefront again, I am seeing a low quality signal. The decoding percentage rapidly jumps over a wide range, down into the low 50's, as high as 72, and anywhere in between. Further, talkgroups rapidly appear and disappear, and this data is only partially concurrent at best with actual system activity. When it's brought back as the active window, Trunker does not recover from this, and has to be shut down and restarted. When that happens, quality returns to 100%...as long as Trunker remains as the active window. If the Trunker window is minimized and another program is used, the same symptoms result.

I just noticed this today for the first time. I will try this on another more powerful computer later when I'm home. Has anyone else experienced these symptoms?

Thanks.

Same with me, I'm using a real fast comp. with XP though. It crashes after like 5 min. and gives me the usuall Windows Error Message "Would You like to sen this message to Windows so they can find a fix for this problem."

I'm using it right now to listen to a UHF military system. After about five minutes or so, the signal strength goes from 100.0 to .2, even though the radio or the control channel hasn't moved.

BTW r00t, thanks for doing this. I forgot how much I like trunker.

Let me know when the ported etrunker version comes available. There's a big EDACS system here I want to monitor.

I am not very good with DOS programs. How do you label a TG and change it's color? I changed the system name by opening the text files and changing it in there, is that the right way to do it?

While trunker is running you can hit the G key and type in the group tag number. Type in description, tab, type in piority, tab, type in color.
It saves to the xxxxgrp.txt file. You can also edit this file with notepad and do the same thing but you gotta be carefull and keep the format correct.

Eric,

Thanks for your info about the MAP files. I was not aware of these. I noticed that this MTrunker supports them now. I tested and it seems to work fine.

Hi R00t,

We haven't heard from you in a while. I hope all is well and that we Trunker-Nuts haven't driven you over the edge with this worthy project. :)

Any updates? Again, many thanks for undertaking this.

Can anyone tell me where the beta 6 is? I've watched Yahoo groups regularly, and the latest versions that I have/know of is t383b1 and the .8 of T4Win.

It might have gotten lost when Lindsay made the TR.net to RR.com transition. Eric ... you remember any of this?
