Portland: "Base Alderwood"?

I monitor Portland Fire, and I keep hearing references to "base Alderwood" presumably for calls at/near the airport. Has anyone else noticed this or have any info on what this refers to?

It's the entrance to the airfield located at Alderwood & 82nd. If you look at that location on StreetView you can see a sign which says Base Alderwood on the gate. Common staging point for medics or other emergency services responding to the airport.
