Anyone have any good info about what freqs/systems used by the various towing companies in the valley? I recently discovered that Rogers Towing is on TG-70 on the Fleetnet-Silke System (just submitted that info).

One company that I want to monitor in particular is AA Towing but I haven't had much luck figuring out what they communicate on. At first I thought they were also on Fleetnet-Silke but now it seems like that isn't the case. I've done some brief monitoring on the Radio Communications Service system but no channels suggesting to be them besides maybe a couple encrypted ones. I did find an expired frequency license on FCC for AA Towing but nothing that's still active.

Other than that I have no clue as to what B&R, HWY-34, All-Rite and Last Resort towing companies operate on.
That's if those companies even use radio comms in the first place of course. For AA Towing I'm certain they do because they have specific antennas on all their trucks.

AA down there in Albany/Lebanon is still on FleetNet as of 2022, they are old school customer to Silke and gets a good deal. And yeah, they had their own UHF repeater back in the 90s.

All-Rite Towing as I recall is on TRBOWest....I am not sure about the others...

I just realized that TRBOWEST has a talkgroup labeled AA Towing. Unsure if that is current. I haven't tried DMR trunking yet to even monitor the system

I've been doing some brief listening on TRBOWEST today and the AA talkgroup seems to be accurate

Looking at street view of their locations and trucks I see VHF antennas. Nothing found on VHF licensing in Coos County by that name, so either it's expired old equipment, licensed under another name, or using a trunked or other repeater service?

Just a bit of history, AA Tow used to have their own system before Silke. The shop and after hour dispatchers would use a UHF link to a base station on Gibson Hill and the VHF simplex from there.

Also TG 40 on Silke is a busy towing group

Wow, I am amazed that AA jumped ship!

Having been in their office a few times, I want to say they are on UHF on an conventional system. I'll ask around....

What about AAA auto club towing? I use to see two radios in vendor tow trucks. --One AAA radio and a private company radio. Back in the day, they used "T" codes to describe the type of call that AAA would dispatch to them. T-1, T-5, T-6 etc. (aka jump start, flat repair, "won't start.") AAA Dispatch in Lake Oswego, does have some control over call routing to vendors, voice and data right?

Salem area, Wiltseys, BC Towing, P&M seem to be the three biggest.

I used to work for AAA Oregon/Idaho. The AAA radio was on Silke's old UHF LTR system thats long gone. It went away in 2013-2014 when the club here switched to dispatch via tablets for "rapid dispatch" or via phone reporting.

TG 393 on FleetNet is a company around Western Portland that can be heard on Prospect Hill pretty often. Heard them go to calls for Hillsboro, Portland, Forest Grove, Vernonia, etc. Truck numbers I've heard so far are in the 30s - 50s range.
