Greetings, one and all!

Been a LONG time since I posted anything, so I thought I'd post something good!

Lately, on the Plattsmouth tower, I have been seeing Radio ID 920999 showing up and doing some talking, this morning, on TGID 50000. IIRC, it also talked on HQ Dispatch 1.

We already have verified that Lincoln County (15, North Platte) is using the system and, while in Central Nebraska a few weeks back, I caught Radio IDs 915007 and 915999 (Dispatch) talking on TGID 51500 (Lincoln County Sheriff).

Going along with Lincoln County's use of Radio IDs, it seems logical that RID 920999 would be the Cass County Dispatch RID and that the TGID should be 52000.

Also, looking back through my Pro96Com logs from late last year, I found RID 911999 (Otoe County Dispatch?) talking on TGID 50000.

Anyone else noticed this or know anything further?

It appears that all the S.E. Nebraska counties are getting control stations on the State system for interop.

These are typically connected to the radio console at each county's dispatch center so that a local channel can be patched to the State system on an as needed basis.

NWIN

Another thing to watch is the state EMA. They unplugged all the 453 MHz repeaters due to narrowbanding. They are now in the process of migrating to NWIN.

I suspect this is going to be a burden to a lot of county level EMA agencies, because they just replaced their radios to comply with the narrowbanding edict, and now they will have to buy P25 compliant radios.

I know for a fact that our county had no idea that this was going to happen.

Howdy, all!

I would have to agree with the observation.

Today, I took an impromptu "site tour" and confirmed the following active county Radio IDs on the N-WIN system. Each of these was observed doing the "PvtData" thing in Pro96Com in copious amounts:

903999 - Gage
911999 - Otoe
916999 - Seward
933999 - Jefferson

Also, for anyone who monitors the Lincoln tower (155), that thing really processes some activity, even on a lazy, beautiful Sunday in Nebraska!

Hey, ObiJohn!

Sounds like there wasn't too much in the way of communication between NEMA and the county EMA Directors.

In a time when funds are tight, it's a big pill to swallow unless NEMA is going to provide radios to the county EMA offices as well!

And, if that wasn't bad enough, check out the FCC's website where one would go to make a narrowband license modification. As of March, the FCC no longer charged anyone the $60 filing fee in order to: 1) add narrowband emissions designators, and 2) to remove legacy "wideband" designators.

Personally, I think the FCC should automatically refund EACH and EVERY narrowband filing fee - they've ripped-off everyone who did their modification(s) prior to the deadline, and even some who filed between 01/01/13 and 03/01/2013.
