I went in and did a little cleaning/organizing of the SRS database. If someone could update or clarify the Lincoln county talkgroup, and what that exactly is... that would be great. The talkgroup number seems to be out of range of what I think it should be, but really have no clue.

The general format has slightly been updated to conform to DB standards. The statewide interop talkgroups will be listed first, followed by state law, state fire, state ems, then other state agencies. Counties as they come on to the system will be listed in alphabetical order, then other uses (such as utilities towards the bottom).

Overall, just about everything is the same, just some back end stuff. Ranges have been adjusted so DOR isn't centered in Kansas anymore (system default), but centered in Nebraska.

Those with database aware scanners and software will notice that all the extra "Nebraska" names have been removed so you do not see it multiple times. After all, even on the web database, we know we are looking at Nebraska. For example, HP-1 users will now see:

Nebraska State Radio System
State Patrol HQ
Troop HQ 1 Dispatch 1

instead of:
Nebraska State Radio System
Nebraska State Patrol HQ
Troop HQ 1 Dispatch 1

Depending on the listing, it killed off one or more duplicates. Ones that should remain as part of its proper name, such as Nebraska Public Power District would remain for clarification.

Those who have capable scanners, please place them in search mode and see what you can come up with. I added a submission for what is believed to be the ROC talkgroups. They have role calls, so please see what you can discover.

Also, please submit what you believe is verified information. If your not sure, please describe what you are hearing under what circumstance, etc so we as DB admins can make a good judgment call if it should be added to the DB or discussed in the forums.

Thanks guys!

When I came through North Platte in September I still heard Lincoln county sheriff dispatch on that TG, also one other TG that I never submitted is 50025. This was used as a patch between Gering com center and NSP. After testing and their programming it never showed up as a talk ID again, but NSP came over Gering sheriff channel when a patch was needed. NSP has a patch to Chadron dispatch but I never saw a TG ID when they were talking to the SO or PD.
One other note on labeling, for in state users most of us know where the troop dispatch centers are but a "once in a while traveler" passing through might like to see something like this on the header:

NSP E SCOTSBLFF
instead of
State Patrol Troop E Talkgroups

NSP D NORTH PLAT
Instead of
State Patrol Troop D Talkgroups

When programming I like to use CAPPS just for ease of reading on the road and try to
program what a novice would see and might understand but these are just my thoughts
that use for Uniden radios.

I am inclined to keep the troop listings as is - as the troops cover a very large geographic area. One might see Scottsbluff, but be in the Sidney area. Still fairly distant apart - but might be more of a hindrance than helpful.

We also avoid all caps for readability.
