Ky post 9 is having great difficulty communicating tonite..May be weather related but i hear i can not copy you completely digital more than a 100 times...I just ponder how long it will be before a ksp unit is put in harms way due to the radio issues involved with p25..You can make it through in analog 99% of the time with only static in the background with digital your there or your not....

If it's happening in more then one location, chances are it's a microwave link issue. It won't be the fault of the radio itself.

I suppose there will always be the situation where some folks think analog is better than digital. However, even with analog systems, there still are dead spots, particularly in hilly terrain, such as Eastern Kentucky.

I know in a digital trunking system, you can enable an option in your radio that detects you being out of range. I don't know if this feature is present in conventional digital systems. It would be a solution, or at least let a trooper know he is out of range and should exercise an even greater degree of caution.
