I purchased a BCD436HP and used RR/Sentinel zip code programming. All I can hear in PG Co. is Fire and State Police. I'm hoping it's just bad programming on my part and I didn't waste money and will never hear PG Police. If any suggested tweaks I need to make to hear the APCO Phase II I would be most grateful.

The scanner you purchased works fine with the new PG County 700 system. You did not mention if your are receiving PG Fire on UHF, or the state police on VHF, rather than on the new 700 system.

Make sure that you have downloaded the latest Sentinel program and database, then review the service types that are selected. You will want to enable Police dispatch, Police tac, Fire dispatch and Fire Tac at a minimum.

You want to enable and listen to this system, which has the police and fire services, plus the MSP Forestville and College Park barracks:

You're going to have a hard time picking up PGPD from where you are. Have you driven around inside PG county and experimented?

The PG system can be heard in certain parts of Anne Arundel county but not always, not sure how well they can be heard farther out.

Crap unless you've got antenna space on top of a broadcast tower. Even then it's hit and miss. The system is shaped really well to only encompass PG plus a little buffer.
