It's been a full decade since the Princeton University P25 system has seen any updates. Received a submission last week and wanted to clarify some of the submitted data. Unfortunately the submitter is not local, and was only there for a short period of time. Hoping a local can chime in on this.

101 Public Safety Dispatch
102 Fire/EMS Dispatch Analog Patch
115 Police Dispatch
401 Facilities
404 Access Control
407 Electrical
416 HVAC
801 Event Ops
1305 Housekeeping
1313 Event Ops
1314 Buses
1319 Event Ops

My questions/concerns were as follows:
  • We have 201 listed as PS Dispatch; you show 101 as PS Dispatch. Which is correct?
  • TG 102 is patched with what, Mercer County Fire/EMS Dispatch on 154.430?
  • What does TG 115 "Police Dispatch" refer to, Princeton Town PD? They operate on their own UHF repeater, so is this a patch?

I was looking last week. Saw mostly encrypted TG and some not in DB. When back in the office will look at logs. Saw one of the Princeton’s on VHF DMR recently. It was in the DB. Fuzzy memory.

Looking back at my dusty records, which I haven't reverified or updated in nearly a decade, I suggest:
101 - I had it listed as University Calling. I recall it as a common channel for any university user to get hold of the university's public safety dispatcher.
102 - used to be a patch to 158.805, which was the Princeton emergency services alerting/ ops channel before Mercer's trunked system really rolled out (I haven't kept up with whether it still is; it's still in the database as such).
115 - I hadn't before logged any activity here. I do know that 104 was once a patch to the Princeton (municipal) police on 453.675. Maybe it moved to 115, or maybe 115 is 460.2625, or maybe 115 is a county talkgroup? (I show that 103 was once a patch to Mercer County's OEM Command talkgroup.)

The others seem to fall in line with what little else I had; names are a bit different but that's not to say that I was right back then let alone now.

Keep your head down, I will too tomorrow after reviewing logs. Goes with the forum DNA. Nice to see your post @robbinsj2. Been some time.

Not much looks the same here as in the past. I see several TG’s that appear to be patches. The patch TG has only one RID, that appears unidirectional. The LEO’s are now encrypted. 2 sites, P25. Total of 24 groups and 191 users. Sleepy. This is a site that I can see but not hear. Most radio from Princeton is strong for me, not this system. Not enough signal for x36. The math people missed the radio people. Numbers throughout appear as shotgun approach. No muni codes seen. Kudos Middlesex. My guesses.

101 may still be calling. Several RID’s and in the clear. Console 2 here
115 appears as patch. Source 0
119 appears as encrypted patch Source 98007
201 is University PD encrypted
202 is University PD2 (common RID)
208 is encrypted with own RID‘s
1314 is clear with own RID

I'll share here everything I had; I'm not suggesting it be put into the database on this basis due to its age but it may be useful for others who are exploring the system and in a position to confirm or update.

101 University Calling
102 patch to 158.805
103 patch to Mercer OEM Command
104 patch to Princeton Police
105 Firefighter Mustering (PU staff who respond to Princeton fire calls, there used to be an apparatus, PFD's I think, kept on campus during the day for this)
106-111 unidentified
201 PUPS Dispatch (enc)
202 PUPS Ops (enc)
203, 205-207 Public Safety unidentified
204 Public Safety Taxi?
301-308 Engineering Department
401 Plumbing Shop
402, 406, 409, 416-417 Maintenance unidentified
403 Carpentry Shop
404 Site Protection Calling
405 Site Protecting Ops
407 Electric Shop
408 Elevator Shop
410 Grounds Shop
411 HVACR Shop
412 Locksmith Shop
413 Mason Shop
414 Special Facilities Calling?
415 Special Facilities Ops?
501 OIT, Inventory?
502, 504, 506-507 OIT Unidentified
503 OIT, Wiring?
505 OIT, Common?
1201 Customer Service Main
1304 Building Service Calling?
1305 Building Service Ops?
1306 Frist Center
1309 Campus Life
1313 Parking Enforcement
1314 Tiger Transit
(lots of other unidentified talkgroups in the 600-1300 range but no inkling of use)

Things ought to be quieter now during their summer break, I recall monitoring the old Motorola system during pre-semester move-in, post-semester move-out, and Reunion Weekend in particular to pick up unidentified talkgroups.

As I recall they have several simulcast sites on campus for saturation but they don't need coverage much beyond the campus footprint, their system doesn't (didn't) even serve the PPL campus. I remember hearing OIT guys doing some installs at, I think, PPL and having to switch to a talkaround channel because they weren't reaching the trunked receivers.

I've updated the system based on the recent submission + what @robbinsj2 has posted here, which was helpful.

If anyone else is in the area of this system and can help bring it more up to date, that would be appreciated. (y)

Traveling through Princeton today and captured TG 2001 which appears to be an EMS TG as they were responding to a mutual aid call for an EMS call I heard on the Plainsboro conventional channel. NO idea who the unit was on 2001 if Mercer or Middlesex County. The RID associated with the call was 1000256 if that helps some one ID it.

Princeton Plasma Physics Lab (PPL) Fire and EMS. They respond mutual aid to Plainsboro on a regular basis.
