Hi, I am a RR feed provider but also looking to stream a feed that only I can listen to when away from home (private) Is this possible and if so how? It is a private channel that I am licensed to use but preferably not for public broadcast therefore would not want it on Broadcastify / RadioReference direcories. Many Thanks

Sorry but as I have replied to your other requests, we do not offer private feeds at this time.

You could host the feed your self by setting your computer up as the server.

I have been doing this. You would need two instances of ScannerCast for each stream you want to do this with; one to RR (B'fy) and one to yourself. You need to open up a port on your router, and stream to that port. Then you need to know your IP address, because remotely you log in to your IP address and the port you're using. If you want to monitor different streams, use a separate port for each.

One other option is to use Speakfreely. This would allow you to set up a remote transceiver so you can link 2 sites together or have your "feed" go over RF on the far end and use an HT.

I have a receiver in Michigan listening to a fire repeater that streams audio only when it is receiving a signal. At my house I have it play to a local speaker, get recorded and if I so wish to go back out over RF. 2 Raspberry PI's is all that I use. You can even install OpenVPN on them to get around some NAT / firewall issues.

I only use about 10 to 20MB of data a day running it 24/7.

I realize this may not be the direction you want to go but I thought I would throw it out there.

I've run as many as 11 private feeds at one time from seven computers.
Normally I run just four feeds other than the one hosted on Broadcastify.

Here's a screen capture of one computer running two private feeds and monitoring four feeds.
(The RR feed is on a different computer.)

And, LOGGING four other scanners at the same time.

It's one of my slower, older computers so it doesn't have a lot of 'horsepower'. ;)

All you need is a second sound card or USB sound dongle, an instance of ScannerCast or other software of your choice, and a host url. (I happen to use no-ip.org only because I've had it for 12 years)

I don't know what happened to the link to the image and I can no longer edit that post, so here it is.
