Pro-106. Group vs Private.

Recently I have read about changing the “type” of my talk groups from group to private.
I am monitoring, for example, Summit Co., Oh Mot 800/900 system and everything is working great. I’m just curios as to what would show on my Pro-106 scanners screen if I switched from group to private and would I gain or lose any transmissions:

You would lose your ability to follow all the talkgroups you current have programmed. Group is used for tracking talkgroups while private is used for following radio-to-radio (known as either "private call" or I-Call) and are based off the RadioIDs. Changing all your talkgroups over to private would most likely leave you listening to silence. Private is only really useful if you have it as a wildcard or if you know specifically which RadioID you want to track to follow a conversation.
