Does anyone know if there is a way on the pro-106 to monitor a P25 without doing the control channel only mode?

I would like to lock out some of the frequencies on this system site 5 Pinellas County Public Services (Project 25) Trunking System, Pinellas County, Florida - Scanner Frequencies

Problem i have is on certain frequencies like 858.7375 comes in distorted and garbled and i would like to take that frequency out of the equation because of the annoyance. I think its related to simulcast distortion but it is so damn annoying to listen to sometimes, and yes i know i will miss some traffic doing that but i already do anyway

Do the download from RR of the CC's only. Then you might try adding the bad frequency in as a conventional under the same scan list and then lock it out that conventional frequency. Someone chime in if there is a better way.

Locking out the frequency (or putting it in as a conventional channel) won't work, because if the conversation being followed happens to land on that frequency, you will lose it.

Keep in mind that most of the newer scanners default to CC only when doing P25 trunking. The problem, as ngel has surmised, is very likely due to simulcast distortion. There are a couple of possibilities, each related to his RF environment. It may be necessary to add the attenuator to the TSYS definition, or use a different site, possibly with a directional array, like a yagi (very small and cheap, and I'm making an assumption here that the 106 is being used in a home when this occurs)

The good folks in our Florida forum might have other, more practical answers....Mike
