Hi All,

Monitoring my county's UHF SZ 4.1 system and notice the Pro106 is showing incorrect individual ID's. Some are correct while others are definitely wrong (I know they are out of the modulation map table range).

Any ideas why?

Need to help us out - what system, what is the "modulation map tables range" and are you talking about talkgroup ID's, private call ID's, or radio ID's?

SmartZone 4.1 UHF.

Individual radio IDs that show up during a group call.

The system modulation map has the first half of IDs as analog and second half as Astro. All the subscribers are programmed with IDs in the Astro range. I've seen the scanner show IDs in the analog range and I know the scanner is wrong.

Are you certain the field on the display is for the I.D.? Are you looking at the bottom line of the display? Is so, thats not the I.D.

I am watching the individual ID display. Some are correct. others are not. If a unit transmits right after another unit, ithe original unit'sID continues to display. That I can understand. But on a new call, the ID sometimes shows incorrectly.

I know the console ID's and the county and municipal ID ranges.

I know thay are wrong. I am not comparing to UniTrunker, I am comparing to ZoneWatch.

The only thing I can summize is when it switches from a control channel to a voice channel, the delay in switching causes the 106 to not decode the ID properly.

For example, I'll see ID 63101 come up. That is a dispatch console. Or 55123, which would be a muni unit. Those are correct. Other times I'll see 00412 or something like that. 700412 is in the analog range of IDs on the system and would never work on an Astro talkgroup.

Is it saying

Radio ID: 00412

Or just 00412? The latter would be if you have the trunked channel number turned on.

Release Notes

The GRE 500/600 CPU V1.4 release notes describe the new Radio ID feature and it's limitations. If your scanner doesn't receive the channel grant message, the Radio ID won't get updated. It's a matter of timing, but you can increase the probability of receiving the grant message by hitting MAN or PAUSE.
