Hi all - finally got up with the times and replaced my old RS Pro137 with an SDS100 and a BCD396XT. Have been messing with SDR# and DSD+ recently to fill in for my digital needs until I got these handhelds, and am wondering... can i install a discriminator tap on my old pro137?
I have never done something like this before. What type of equipment would I need? What do I need to know about the scanner? I've looked around a little, but haven't come across anyone who details the process for this particular device.
So, what do I need to learn and where do I start? And, will my scanner still work as before after the tap is installed (barring losing the headphone port - which i never used anyway).
Is this something that can be done by someone who's never soldered anything before?
Thanks in advance for the pointers!
