Picked up a PRO 160 on clearance the other day, but just now getting around to putting it thru its paces today. I've got banks 0,1 and 2 programmed with some local PD / FD freqs as a test. Seems to be working like a charm so far. But I do have one question (for now)...

Is there any way, while it's scanning thru the banks, that it will display the CTCSS codes? Right now it's showing the freq, the channel alpha tag as well as the bank alpha tag.

I have the CTCSS/DCS setting set to 'on' in the menu.

Don't know if it makes any difference, but I'm using ARC160 to do the programming.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I have the Pro 162 (the portable version of the 160) and am using Arc 160. For all of my frequencies in the file, I have all entries in the PL/DPL column set to "Search," and nothing specified in "mode." With this at least it always picks up the CTCSS codes.

That did the trick.

Thanks for the information. I appreciate it.

No problem. The Arc160 software--like nearly all Butel software--is really lousy, especially compared to the simplicity and logic of Don Starr's products. For example, there's no way to program SAME codes, and you can't adjust any of the "main" scanner settings with the software. Basically, you can program frequencies and choose lists, and that's it. And the online documentation is atrocious. I wish Don would create a program specially for the 160.
