PRO-197 programming issue

I actually had this same issue yesterday with mine. I also was using the same software. I had to install some drivers before it would work. It has always worked before then. D2XX Direct Drivers was where i got the drivers. Im not sure this will help you,but it did with mine. Good luck.

Shout it from the rooftops.....FINALLY!!!!!!

Well, it turns out the problem was the computer I was using, although it was the computer I've used in the past to program the 197.

After messing around with this once again for the past two days, I decided to ditch the W7 machine and try my W8.1 laptop instead. Installed the PSREdit500 software on it, downloaded the drivers and tried to upload the programming file. Wouldn't you know it, it uploaded on the very first try.

Not sure why the W7 computer no longer will upload to the scanner (although it will remotely control it), but as long as my W8.1 machine will upload and do the remote control, I'm a happy camper once again.
