pro 2006 discriminator tap

I have seen many versions of the pro 2006 discriminator tap on the web including Bill Cheeks, and for everyone I view they use a different version. Instead of taking my radio to a radio repair shop, I would rather do the mods myself, but if I have to, I will have to.
I have seen them using two caps and a resistor, one cap and a resistor, I have seen them in parallel I have seen them in series, I have seen them starting from TP2, I have seen them starting from D33, it seems that we can't even agree on the values of the components involved, it' s all getting very confusing . If there happens to be any electronics technicians or engineers out there, could you comment on which version should be used. thanks in advance.

There are no digital modes where i am what am i saying we don't even have a police officer but if we had digital i would venture doing this. i have several scanners so it would be fun.
