What do the letters VC next to the frequency (trunking mode) mean in the display, second line? I can't seem to find any mention of it in the manual.

This is a very good scanner...only wish the display was as big as on my 796D....

VC = Voice Channel. The scanner captures the transmission on the control channel and the scanner reports the voice channel that you see.
