I have a new/used Pro 2096..have programmed many scanners...for some reason this one will not scan local freqs...I have other scanner that work fine..it seems to be programmed correctly..but nothing

Simulcast distortion could be the issue at hand depending on your location relative to these 3 towers on Clinton Co Simul. What is the make & model of the scanner that works & are you using the stock telescopic antenna on the 2096?

I have another PRO2096 setting right beside it with telescopic ant. and it works fine..Radio Shack PRO 2096

the one radio is in the 'sweet spot'. just use that one.

The PRO-96 and PRO-2096 both have a problem with frequency drift on 800 MHz. Frequency accuracy is critical for decoding P25 systems. You may need to adjust VR3 inside the PRO-2096 (VR4 in the PRO-96).

I've never noticed any digital simulcast distortion within Clinton County. With only 4 towers, I don't think that is an issue.
