Pro-74

Does anyone still use the Pro-74? I know different people use certain scanners for different things, and was wondering what the 74 is "best" at.

Apparently it is starting to get harder to listen to B/N traffic here due to Starcom and all the trunk systems in McLean County. :-/

one thing i can say is the one i used to have had very good sensitivity!

I will agree with you on that one. Sitting at my dad's house when I lived down there, I could hear Metcom about 35-40 miles away, along with Sangamon County Dispatch about the same distance away in the opposite direction.

Hey Daleduke

I use the pro-74. Well, used it many years ago for NASCAR. Just pulled it out recently to try to get some use out of it and I cant seem to manually load any known freqs. Darn thing just keeps <error> on me. Got any suggestions?

Im simply pressing MAN, entered the freq., pressed PROG and get the <error>

About to just try to sell it and use the funds to get me a happy meal......lol

PS I sure do miss my grand-daddys old school bearcat I used to listen to back in the 70's and 80's with all the red LED's going back n forth...remember them? lol
