Pro-95 and Pro-97 EEPROM TEST MODE?

Does anyone know what the EEPROM TEST MODE is on the Pro-95 and Pro-97 when you hit 0 and 5 when the scanner is first turned on? I know for sure it deletes the info stored. What else does it do?

It probably just does as it says, it tests the flash memory and because of that, the memory is erased.
