PRO-97 Display

I'm trying to help a friend program his new PRO-97. I'm using Win97.

I notice that during scan (conventional), the display shows the bank tags, but when it stops on an active frequency, the bank text is not displayed, only the channel text.

Is there a way to change the display so that the bank tag will also be displayed when stopped on an active channel?

Not really. That's characteristic of the way that scanner was designed. A workaround is to include the bank tag in the frequency tag.

i.e.

BANK TAG: NEW YORK
CHANNEL TAG: Police

Change the CHANNEL TAG to something like: N.Y. Police

Agree, just be more creative with your frequency description (instead of Police CID you will need to do SYR Police CID, etc...). I wasn't real happy with that change (the PRO95 was better). However, once you get used to it and change your descriptions it works ok.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have a PRO-95 myself. I can't imagine why the PRO-97 left that feature out. As a temporary fix, I had done exactly what you suggested. In this area, fortunately, the only channels I had to fix that way are the Sheriffs frequencies. Not a big deal.

I like the fact that it does show the bank name while scanning, an improvement over my 93/2053. If only we could get both. Maybe an option to choose between bank name, tone info, or blank? That would be nice.

I dont knpw exactly but I believe the pro-95 didnt have ct/dcs decoding and the 97 does so gte used the last line for the codes
