I am programming a PRO-97 for a neighbor and is the first time I have messed with one. I now have a new respect for my BC246T. =) I programmed the EDACS in the proper LCN starting with Channel 01. I can hear traffic, however it seems to be scanning them as conventional frequencies even though I have the bank set to EDACS mode. When it comes upon the control frequency, I get the EDACS "noises" identifying it as the control channel. No TGID information appears at all. I am programming the scanner by hand as they did not have the cable or software. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Quick steps for both channels and bank to EDacs

twengland,

For the PRO-97 both the channels and the bank have to be set to Edacs. Here are some quick steps to get you going.

To set the channels to Edacs: (I'm assuming you're using the first bank.)
-press "MAN 001 MAN" to display first channel
-Screen should say "M001ED" and frequency.
-If you don't see ED press "MODE" key until it says ED
-press MAN to see channel 002
-repeat for all channels, must say ED for each channel

To set the bank to Edacs:
-while displaying any channel in the bank
-press "PGM T (for Trunk)"
-Screen should say EDACS
-If it doesn't press MODE key until you see EDACS

Good luck. I grew up in Mount Vernon, IA and still have family up there.
