Greetings,

I'm located in Pasadena, CA and just completed their Citizen's Police Academy. Now that I know a lot of the folks I'll be listening to, I'd like to start monitoring all the Police radio traffic in Pasadena and also in some LAPD cities.

I have a pro-97 scanner and I have just downloaded the win97 software which went fine. I got the Radio Shack Programming Cable that attaches my computer usb port to the scanner so now my pc and scanner are communicating properly.

Now I'd like to download all the Pasadena Police Freqs as well as some LAPD Freqs. I just bought the premium membership here at RR so I can do these automatic dowloads but I am having trouble figuring out how to do this.

If anyone out there can kindly provide some advice about how to download these Police freqs using win97 I'd surely appreciate it.

Thank you.

I believe the Web Import function in win97 is what I need to download trunked RR data into my pro-97, however, everytime I try this function it gives me the error below. Anyone know how to solve this problem?

XML error detected: mismatched tag

near:

</head>
^

while requesting URL:
http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?ctid=201#cid-101/?ol=1/?ol=1

You need to use this URL:
http://www.radioreference.com/apps/xml1.1
per the win97 site:
http://www.starrsoft.com/software/RRConvFreqImp.asp

Win97 trouble getting LAPD Freqs

Thanks for the response. I tried the new url you suggested and it indeed allowed the win97 program to function but it appears this url does not offer the LAPD Police Freqs in it's listing of agencies available for download. How does one download the LAPD police freqs from RR site into the pro-97 using win97? Thx again.

I can't help you with the problem downloading from the RR database but can give you some information--bad news--LAPD is digital and your Pro-97 is a NON-digital scanner.
