I'm using Win95 to program my radio. I understand that the Pro-95 does not receive Mil-Air very well, however my question is when I program mil-air, do I enter them as normal or are there any other selections that I need to make.

Win95's a nice set-up (Thanks Don Starr). I've been looking at all of the selections and can't find anything that I think is needed for this programming, but wasn't sure if I needed to further tweak it or anything.

TIA,

Todd

I'm here a lot
If the range you want to monitor is not defaulted to AM be
sure that you make that change for aviation freq.'s.

mciupa,

Thanks for the reply. I did default the air to AM, but wasn't sure if I was missing anything else.

Thanks again

Todd, liked I said before, you have the to find the extended freqs box to check off, then load the file. You also need it to be set to AM mode, but that was already covered.

Pasted from Don Starr's webpage http://www.starrsoft.com/freeware/win95/default.asp

"Extended Frequency Ranges!
As of version 00.06, Win95 allows you to enter any frequency between 5 kHz and 1.3 GHz, excluding the cellular ranges. This fills the "gaps" in the PRO-95's coverage (e.g. between 54 MHz and 108 MHz). For ranges below 460 MHz, the step size is 5 kHz; for ranges above 460 MHz, the step size is 6.25 kHz.
This feature can only be used in programmed channels - it does not work in the user-defined Limit Search (SR5). The scanner makes additional checks for "valid" frequencies. It has to, so that it can jump between its valid ranges as it's scanning.
UPDATE! You can search through the Extended Ranges! Using Win95, program an out-of-range frequency into some channel. On the PRO-95, select that channel in "manual mode". Press FUNC TUNE. The scanner will no search up (or down) from that frequency. If you let it enter a "valid" range, it won't go back to the invalid range, so you'll have to select the channel and hit FUNC TUNE again"

Thanks for the replies. I've checked Don Starr's page, and I think I downloaded my version prior to the date the 00.06 was released. When I get home tonight I'll try to check to make sure.

It will with the software, but I've heard that it isn't very sensitive in that band. I have one but don't listen to MilAir because I am not near a base or anything, I put the right freqs in, but i don't ever hear anything.

The 95 will with software,.. but the 2052 does it lovely and while I had one, performed flawlessly on all the air, both Mil and Civi.....have not heard just how good the 96 does mil air after opening yet....
