pro96/2096 control software

Yes I searched for the answer but did not find, I was talking with another ham a few minutes ago, since he was on the road and couldn't look I offered to look for him. Uniden has remote "virtual" control software available, is there anything similar for the RS pro92/2096 available?

No, there's nothing like that available for the PRO-96/2096. That scanner does not support such functionality (it doesn't accept any "control" messages, and doesn't supply any "status" information).

At least most and probably all Radio Shack scanners have no capability for control through the port.

The way programs like WIN9x and ScanCat work is through fooling the scanner into thinking it is involved in a cloning operation with another scanner.

Uniden doesn't have a monopoly on "controllable" scanners. Other manufacturers do make scanners that can be controlled and monitored from a computer.
