Hope im posting in the right place.Im haveing a problem with programing a fleet map I think?I am trying to enter 12,12,12,4,4 type IIi, The problem is when I enter the TG'ID's it will not except the 500-00.
I entered from 000-00 to 400-15 but when i get to 500-00 It says invalid frequencies.
I tried entering the code 15 (as the manual says for type 2) But it doesnt seem to change anything.
Its for the Pro97,
This would be caused by an incorrect fleet map would it not?
Boy life is easier when you have the right tools.Looking foward to win97.
Win95 and Win96 made it a snap to program the other scanner fleetmaps.
But I cant wait for the program to come out lol.
Sorry everyone for posting in the disscussion area.I wasnt sure where to post. Here or there

Well your question leaves a lot to try and assume. You say you are attempting to set a fleetmap and yet you only provided 5 blocks. Assuming you set blocks 0 - 4 for 12, 12, 12, 4, 4 and left blocks 5, 6, & 7 at the default, then you can't enter 500- anything, since that would be a block 5 address.

I also think you are confusing setting code 15 as the intro (first block) to change all blocks to Type II, that is only a shortcut. If you want any indivudual block to be Type II, you need to set it to "0".

Hope this helps.

Each size code 12 entry takes up two blocks. Three size 12 entries occupy blocks 0,1,2,3,4, and 5. That leaves blocks 6 and 7 available for size code 4 and completes the fleetmap.

The PRO-97 should automatically take care of the two block requirement for size code 12. Enter 12 into blocks 0, 2, and 4. Then enter size code 4 into blocks 6 and 7.

500-00 still comes up invalid ID value.
I even tried entering it in without the convertion chart
12 in the first 2 blocks
12 in the 2nd 2 blocks
12 in the 3rd 2 blocks
04 in the next
04 in the next

Did not seem to help.
Went back to 00 00 00 00 00 04 04
Still nothing No 500-00 TG-ID

The 00 entries are for type II. Try the entries in my message above.

I went back to 12 12 12 4 4 it still doesnt allow me to input 500-00
Allows up to 400-15 but no 500-00 automatically goto 400-00 ?
Dup Freq ?
Is it me or the scanner.

Duh!
I don't know what I was thinking earlier.
Right, 12 is a two block, block-size.

Okay, that means if you set blocks 0, 2, 4 to 12 then 500 is impossible. Since the block involved would be 4 all fleet codes from that block will start with a 4. Fleetcode 400-15 is the highest code possible for a block 4 set to 12. That will cover all radio-id's from 0x8000 through 0xBFFF and would be from the beginning of 400-0 through the end of 400-15. The next radio ID (0xC000) would be a block 6 radio.

What system are you trying to setup?

I've Been informed I still have a Incorrect fleetmap programmed in,LMAO I'm such an idiot. After programming it 3 different times with alpha tags by hand. I was reading the fleetmap incorrectly.
Thank you Dave from NF2G for letting me know My map was still incorrect. He didnt tell me how to fix it he left that for me to decipher.
With reading about 3 manuals and 20 different pages I found a web site someone posted long ago
http://marksscanners.home.comcast.net/93_95/95-1.html
I realized what I was doing wrong.
Geez for something so simple sure did seem complicated.
I think I have ADD or something.
Thank you every one for your time and patience.
