Re: Probe and Pro 2006?

I use Probe 7 with my 2042 & OS535 -- this setup is limited to conventional systems but I have some trunktrackers off doing their own thing so that isn't a problem for me.

My only complaints about the Probe/2042 combo are hardware-related. I started with Probe 4 and made each subsequent upgrade, and have never regretted a penny I spent on the software.

Aside from the lack of trunking support, which is very clear to anyone who reads up on Probe before buying it, and the price, which is a little high but I think worthwhile, I have never heard anyone with something bad to say about Probe. I highly recommend Probe for conventional scanning by intermediate- to expert-level enthousiasts (many features wouldn't be fully appreciated by a novice).

(Other than being a satisfied customer (at normal retail price), I have no relationship with Perry Joseph or Data File Inc.)

Thanks,

Right,I use Trunker and it controls the 2006,also have other TT scanners for when the 2006 is busy with Scanstar DOS.

What sort of "hardware related problems" are you talking about ?

Re: Probe and Pro 2006

I'm just not thrilled with the sensitivity. I had problems with my first 535 board, had to send it back and get another. Still not as good as I would have hoped, but good enough that I haven't bothered looking into it further. Could be the 2042, the 535, or even interference from my computer.

I use PROBE 6.0 with a PRO 2006. I have this to say:

"Get it, Get it, Get it. You won't regret it."

True enough, it doesn't do trunking. If you are in an area that doesn't have a trunked system (if so, where in the heck are you living at?!)
you will have the ultimate scanning tool.

Even if you are in an area that has a lot of trunking (I live in Southern CA, there are five trunked systems to monitor that I can think of off the top of my head) there are still lots of things to monitor in conventional mode.
