I have a small Bluetooth transmitter that plugs into the earphone jack, and use either my ear buds or an Anker rechargeable portable speaker when I want more clarity.
Which BT transmitter are you using? I tried one and got too much stray RF. TIA
Back in 2023 I got this one from Amazon. It is unavailable now. It worked very well in the car on trips and in Las Vegas in the Casino's.

It seems to have a 150 ohm resistor to its output jack for the positive signal and 10 ohm for the negative and are a floating signal, no ground are used and the 10 ohm are a protective resistor if you accidentally short circuit it to ground. So no speaker can be used without going inside the scanner and short circuit those resistors, the only two chip resistors at the connector, as the amplifier can produce almost 2 watt with some distorsion and have built in protection.
Many Bluetooth transmitters are made for music with a continuos signal and when used with a scanner that can be quiet for a longer time between activity the BT can go into sleep mode and will take a second or two to wake up and start to transmit and the BT receiver needs a while to react and sync again and you lose the first words.
