Hi, I have a technical computer problem with my Uniden software. I program scanners for many of my firefighting buddies and I need to be able to use Uniden's software. I myself have ARC 250 Pro for my 796D. However, due to the variation of scanners that I program, I have to have a different software package for each one. Here's the problem. For some reason, I am having connectivity issues with the Uniden software for the 296/796 only on my laptop computer. I have all of the baud settings correct.
I have my serial cable connected into a targus mobile port replicator that connects to my pc via usb. Here is the interesting thing, if I plug the same serial cable into my mothers Dell desktop computer, I can connect just fine with the 796 scanner. Any suggestions?
