I'm having trouble tracking the Springfield public safety system. I have all the freqs from the Radioreference page, but hear absolutely nothing. I've searched through the 854-861 range and came up with five new freqs (856.500, 857.500, 859.000, 860.000, and 861.000(Ctrl)) that have Springfield traffic, but don't seem to make up the entire system. It has become very frustrating.

If anyone's wondering, I have a Pro-92 and a Pro-2067. I get the same situation on both.

Thank you for your attention,

Tommy

860.9875, 859.9875, 858.9875, 857.9875, 856.9875, 857.4875, 856.4875
are the only freqs you should have on the Springfield system. I don't know why you are getting those oddball freqs.

Here is a copy of the Sangamon County CARMA profile.

Well the reported freqs are all .0125 off of the actual ......

I've had a report before of someone not able to monitor the Springfield system.

Each time I've been in (and lived in Springfield) my Pro92 and Pro2067 both picked up the system just fine.

I was the one who contacted you a few months ago, Terry. I didn't have the 2067 at the time, and was just in the area for a few days. I can't see both rigs having the exact same problems. I didn't have a single problem scanning in Northern Virginia.

Now I'm back for good and am trying to figure this out. I'm in an area that gets great reception of city traffic on the freqs I mentioned before. I was hoping to get the insight of someone who scans that system on a regular basis.

N9JIG, I put your freqs in with the same result. Today I'm getting the control channel on 860.000 when it should be on 859.9875.

Thanks again for your attention.

Well, I guess the questions would be...

Do conventional frequencies do just fine?

Are you able to monitor other TRS?

I won't be back in Springfield for a few weeks (hopefully) and not again until the State Fair.

Is there some sort of setting on the PRO92/2067 scanners for Offset on 800 for those systems near the Mexican border? Perhaps he has that set incorrectly.

I don't have either radio these days, so I don't have the manual handy, but I would check there....

I don't see any thing in the Pro-92 or 2067 manual that would suggest anything like this.

Have you tried resetting the scanner? (paper clip) or Initializing it pressing 0 then 1 after you turn it on?

(remember this will clear out its memory)

OK, here goes...

I can receive conventional just fine. The last 800mhz system that I listened to was dead on frequency, although I had problems with the site map and couldn't trunk with it.

When I first got this scanner in 2001, it had no problems at all receiving the Springfield system. Now it seems that it has problems with this system only. I bought a used 2067 this past winter and it seems to have the same issues. I've tried resetting the 92 with a paper clip and the keypad 0-1 technique-no help. About the only thing that I haven't tried is inputting all the data by hand (NOT looking forward to that) instead of using my old .spg file for Win92. I guess I'll try that and see if it works.

If anyone can think of anything else, it would be appreciated.
