When listening to Erie Pennsylvania coms, they have specific channels for energycare to tell hospitals who they are bringing in and why plus the normal vitals like heart rate, o2 and blood pressure. Does Allegheny county do that? I see the med command channels and the HEAR 400 Channels but nothings listed for ambulance to hospital. Thanks in advance

I think so, but the database lists them as simplex channels so you might have to be fairly close to the ambulance and/or hospital to hear them.
Alright so I just messaged my ems friend. They said med channel 5 is Jefferson, and med channel 4 is for any UPMC facility. You use that channel if you go to any UPMC facility in Allegheny county. Will update the database as well

Even if you’re close to the facility, you still won’t hear the traffic because it IS simplex. Remember, the facility probably has an antenna 50 or 60ft up. You would have to close to the truck to receive patient reports.

the 155.340 and 155.400 radios usually have antennas on top of the hospitals which have much larger range than your home monitoring station. Also most units dont call in until you are 5-10 mins from the ER.

@Mogley What he said. That's what I meant to say. 😉 Although I'm not sure you won't hear the medic units because our hospital's VHF channels are simplex too, but we can still hear them as long as they're close enough, but sometimes the signal is broken due to range, hills, and obstructions. But if where you are has too many obstructions, then maybe you won't hear them hardly ever. I don't scan the Hospital channels anymore though ever since I got my new one that I just turned that service type off.
