Hi there, I am trying to find out how to program my radio for Renfrew OPP and Renfrew EMS.
So far I have only got some fire dispatch etc, and I only seem to be hearing half of the broadcast. I'll hear the dispatch but not who they are talking to etc.
My bigger curiosity is how to get Renfrew OPP and EMS. I can't seem to find the frequencies.

Okay awsome, thank you. So when I am programming that and I am selecting system type, is that under conventional and then input everything, or is that under P25?

Neither, actually - it's a Motorola system. You may want to do it from a PC, it's very tedious to program this via the front panel. Freescan is a free program that will work to do this. The $15 for a 180 day subscription to Radioreference will allow you to import from the Database and save a good headache.

There's an article for front panel programming here that may prove helpful.

Save yourself the headache and do not try to program this by hand. You can get the Uniden Software or Proscan on a 30day trial and program it that way.
Where in the county are you? There are towers in Deep River, Pembroke, Renfrew, Kuburn, Barry's Bay.
You pick the closest to you and you will pick up the entire county of the OPP and EMS on FleetNet.

FIRE = Main Dispatch is 155.2500, but you may only hear one side of the calls due to distance.
Renfrew County, Ontario (ON) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference has a bunch of different freqs for dispatch, but using the repeater at 163.800 you tend to get decent comms from both sides, once again depends on distance.

These aren't entry level scanners. You gotta do it by the programs. I'm sure ARC has a version, and probably a free version with limited use.

Been working with these type of scanners for 20 years now I'd say if I did 10,000 programs/Radio ID/, corrections only 10 were done by hand.

If you can do spreadsheets like Excel it's very similar. Once you get the hang of it it's easy.
