It will work OK using the Jefferson County Simulcast site if you are lucky to be in a location not affected by simulcast. It cannot trunk track the Port Arthur site which is 700 MHz. The PRO-96 and PRO-2096 were manufactured before the 700 MHz band became available. The scanner should work OK on 800 MHz without a custom table.

It should just work on 800 with the standard bandplan. VHF/UHF/900(?) requires a custom table. If it was an old 3600 type II system, it would need a custom bandplan for rebanding. Of course, it's simulcast, so YMMV.

The word from Gommert at Butel is that 800 MHz P25 systems require the rebanded band plan if using rebanded frequencies. He should know. The standard band plan can be used if there are no 851, 852, or 853 MHz frequencies. That scanner does not load the band plan from the control channel.

P25 doesn't carry the Type II rebanding issue as the 800 MHz standard bandplan starts at 851.00625 MHz and continues up with a 6.25 kHz spacing.

I am able to use my PRO-96 on the MPSCS (which is mostly 851-853 MHz) without issue using the standard bandplan in the radio's firmware.

The Ironwood and Watersmeet sites have the fourth decimal place of all frequencies ending in a 5 which can use a standard band plan.

You may be missing traffic on just the frequencies without the fourth decimal place ending in 5. Check if you see all 4 of the frequencies in each site while receiving traffic using the standard band plan.

If you are receiving the 851.900 voice frequency, it appears that the custom band plan is not necessary. Do you hear audio on the GNDVIEW HOSP talkgroup?
