I apologize if this has been asked previously, but a search was inconclusive...

I'm trying to program a BCT15X with both ProScan and Freescan, but am having trouble getting the scanner to talk to either program. I'm wondering if the cable could be the issue. The cable dates back to around 2011 and I'm thinking perhaps it's 'out of date' in regards to a Win10 computer.

IIRC, the cable worked with an old (and I mean oooold) Win7 computer about a year or so ago, but that PC has since given up the ghost and all I have now are Win10 machines.

I'd like confirmation that the cable is out of date before I order a new one I saw listed on Amazon. Thanks in advance for any info provided.

:)

If using a USB-1 cable connected to the front port then read this under "Important Windows 8 and 10 Information"

Advise if using the rear port.

Thanks for the link. It told me everything I needed to know. Looks like a new cable will be ordered after my next payday.

Yep, it was definitely an 'old cable' issue. My new one wasn't supposed to show up until tomorrow, but appeared on my doorstep a little while ago. The BCT15X is now communicating perfectly with both programs. Now I won't have to make a ton of changes manually.
