I just recently purchased my BCT-396 digital scanner. Can anyone tell my how to program the Fairborn Police frequencies into my scanner? How can I tell if it is a APCO-25 frequency? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Just program the frequency into your scanner. You shouldn't have to do anything else. Fairborn is still using their VHF system. They have 3 channels.
155.535 PD-Dispatch Digital
155.685 PD- TAC 2 Digital / Analog Used occasionally.
156.000 PD- TAC 3 Analog not on the repeater (rarely used)

154.400 Fire Dispatch (Analog) simulcast from Greene County 800mhz system.

Fairborn is a busy agency. I was born and raised there and left about a year ago. There has been conversation about joining GCSO's system, but I think that it's unlikely in the near future. Dispatch has the ability to communicate on the 800 system but to my knowledge none of the cruisers or portables are capable, I could be wrong though.

Have fun!! I miss Fairborn, what a fun city to scan. Their 10 codes and other information is in the Greene County folder over in the database.

Your HP-1 should already have Fairborn Police pre-loaded, just navigate to Greene County, Ohio or put in the zip code for the Fairborn area.
