Is the Sentinel program better then the ARC536PRO program?

Better? No, but it is adequate to program the SDS and it is necessary to keep the National Database and firmware updated. And you can't beat the price!

Sentinel is free from Uniden, use it as mentioned too update firmware and database.
If you want great software for programming try “Proscan” it is very easy to use, it is updated
often, and can be used for logging, works on most of the newer Uniden.

Personally I only use Sentinel for firmware updates (haven't been any in years) and nothing else as it is the only app that can do so. Arc536pro is alright but Proscan is much much better
