I need help programming my 996p2 truck Tracker V
I was able to program most stuff into scanner using Pro scan and RR account. I tried to program

New Jersey Interoperability Communications System (NJICS) Essex County into the scanner and it doesn't show up. What did I do wrong?

Since you programmed via software, post your programming file. To attach it to post, you may have to zip (compress) the file in order to post to the forum. You can zip a file using File Explorer in Windows. (ProScan files for your scanner type would be *.txt files, which do not have to be zipped in order to attach to a post.)

Thank You Steve. Going to post that file when I get home at 2pm today. I did try last night to manually program the system in and I assigned a quick key and I seen it in the scan but nothing came out all night. Thanks again for your help Steve.
This is a steep upgrade from my Home Patrol 2 which is plug and play.

Please attach your ProScan programming file so we can take a look at it and check for problems. Here is a PDF file which will answer all of your questions about using quick keys. Print it out and save it for your reference.

Please let me know what u think. It appears none of my P25 systems load into scanner
I imported the sites for your trunked systems, based on the counties where you imported talkgroups.

See if this revised file works for you. I see that you have Hudson talkgroups downloaded for the state system, NJICS, but there does not show to be a site specifically in that county. So I made sure that sites from the counties adjacent to Hudson were imported. I did not assign quick keys to any of the sites. You, of course, can use them, or skip that step & let the scanner monitor all of the sites.

For Bergen, their system shows 3 sites: a North and a South Uhf Simulcast, and a 700 MHz simulcast. Somebody in your area, if you have your thread moved to your state forum, would be able to advise you which one (or more than one) site that you need.

Also, most of these sites are simulcast, which can cause problems for scanners other than Uniden's SDS series. This Wiki article describes those problems, and offers a few suggestions that might help, though there is no guarantee. Sometimes, something as simple as repositioning the scanner a foot or two can make a big difference.

Thank you Steve. I am going to try doing this when I get home. I am somewhat confused about all of this programming. Literally have been reading stuff including the manual for almost 10 days. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to do this for me.

They use exactly the the same file type. I have a 325p2, but the file type is still identical

When you use ProScan to import and load it into your 996p2, and save any changes, it will rebrand the file as a 996p2 file.
