BCD325P2/BCD996P2: Programming Frequencies

when i was programing my BCD996P2 i came across these talk group that did not give the frequencies dose that mean you can not get them or listen to them

These are talkgroups on the MSCommNet. They are talkgroups on a trunked system, not individual frequencies. You will have to be successfully decoding the MSCommNet system to be able to scan those talkgroups. Your success with a 996p2 will depend on your location, as some people have had issues with decoding that system (i personally know one) based on their location to the local towers. I use an SDS100 and have no problem decoding them, YMMV.

If you scroll up slightly on that page, you will see all the trunked frequencies that are in use.

Talk groups are similar to "channels" in a trunked radio system. They are not frequencies, they are groups of users.

Sounds like you may not be familiar with how trunked radio systems work, start here. Welcome to the RR forums!

Once you get a grasp on the basics you'll likely want to hone in on the site below based on the talkgroups you provided. Every frequency can be a possible control channel so be sure to program them all in

To summarize the info for those following this thread in case anything got "lost in the noise":

The issue affects only NEW HARDWARE (post-summer, 2021) BCD996P2 and BCD536HP.
The issue does NOT affect any of the portable versions (BCD325P2 and BC436HP).
This issue affects P25 and NXDN decode (and may affect DMR).
The issue only exists on the frequency range 171.2125 to 173.9875 MHz.
If your BCD996P2 is new, make sure you have the latest firmware. A hardware change resulted in not being able to decode P25 frequencies above 171.2 MHz in the VHF high band. A firmware update was issued to fix the problem.
